Also, you can find some doujin comics that use kareshi to denote that the comic is about the reader (usually in 1st person PoV) having a romantic relationship with the male protagonist(s). There are Japanese book shopping websites that sell some of these types of comics, so it’s not a stretch to think that Historia is using this word in a similar context.
